1-hr Parent Coaching session

Parent coaching sessions are designed to be personalised and tailored to your unique needs.

Parenting is a challenge, and you’re not alone.

Parenting in the twenty-first century brings with it all sorts of unique challenges. It can sometimes feel a bit like a minefield out there. Many of the parents I have spoken to feel alone and as though no one else understands what they are going through. Where we once used to live as part of a big community, times have changed, and we have become more disconnected. This means that families are often trying to navigate things on their own. When children leave primary school and move towards the independence of secondary school, things change again. There is no handbook telling you how to navigate parenthood in a step-by-step way.

When your child is upset, it can be totally heartbreaking. When their behaviour gets a bit challenging, it might leave you wondering what to do. Sometimes they push boundaries, which is a natural part of growing up and finding themselves. They might do things that you don’t want them to, which can leave you uncertain as to how to manage the situation. No one gets it right 100% of the time, and there is definitely no one-size-fits-all approach.

As parents, you are preparing your children for life outside the home, and the most precious thing you can have with your children is a close relationship where they turn to you in times of struggle. Sometimes, when we are stressed or upset, it can make us react in a certain way which we later regret. Our children are watching us all the time and learning a lot from our responses to certain situations. If you would like to take back control in the home while remaining closely connected to your young person you are in the right place.

Free No Obligation Chat

If you have any questions or just want to see if we can work together, I offer a free 10-minute, no-obligation chat.

When struggling to change our parenting style from that of our upbringing when addressing challenging behaviour with our explosive child, Keri was there to help guide us to a better way of communicating. We have a wonderful relationship with our child and I fear that would have looked very different without Keri’s help. Forever grateful 🙏

How does parent coaching work?

We will meet for an initial session so I can understand more about you, your family, and the unique challenges that you are facing.

During this initial meeting, we will look at your own experiences of being parented and your parenting style. This can sometimes explain where some of your reactions might come from. We will consider the changing role of a parent as your young person grows. We might look at why big emotions happen sometimes, and how to communicate with your young person so you form a stronger connection.

Why Choose Me?

I have a lot of experience supporting parents and teens with the more emotionally challenging things that life can bring. This has included working with young people who self-harm and those who have experienced loss. I have supported parents who have separated and who are co-parenting. Having spent 12 years as a single parent, I understand the challenges this can bring. More recently, I have supported parents to get their young people back into school. I have seen how upsetting school avoidance can be for parents. Over the years, I have dealt with most situations you can face as a parent. I totally appreciate the unique experience of each family and know that there is no one-size-fits-all.

How Much Will it Cost?

A session will cost £50 which is payable on the day by BACs or card.
