My name is Keri Hartwright, I am a parent coach, Human Givens therapist, and director of Mental Health HQ CIC. My aim through my work is to reduce the stigma around mental health, reducing the effects of intergenerational trauma and giving people tools for life.
Throughout my life as an adult I have worked with people, witnessing more and more over time the challenges people face with their emotional health and how it impacts on their health overall. I have my own personal journey living through some traumatic events in my early childhood, being uprooted in the middle of my pre teen years to move back to the UK from the other side of the world. I have also witnessed first had the impact also of intergenerational trauma.
When I discovered the Human Givens approach, and understood the emotional needs, I could see how the emotional needs being unmet in your life can really impact on your mood and mental health. When a conscious effort is made to better meet those needs, it really does make a huge difference, and it is this learning that I want to share with others to help them get their life back on track.
What can I help you with?
As a therapist. I cam help you with the following:
- Reducing anxiety – Anxiety can show up in many ways and can really impact on your life. Perhaps you might start to avoid things you normally like, or notice that your sleep is affected. You may end up having panic attacks, develop fears, phobias, lack of confidence or overwhelming pressure.
- Break the cycle of depression.
- Resolve trauma – The impact of trauma can be far reaching and affect people’s lives for many years. As a human givens therapist I can treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which can be the result of trauma so that you can move forward in your life.
- Stop addictive behaviour – If you are at a point where you feel ready to move forward and tackle addiction then get in touch to see how I can help you.
- Manage grief which is keeping you stuck
- Parenting – Whether it is a toddler, school aged child, teen or tween, I can help you manage challenging behaviour, toileting issues, sleep and much more
- Sleep – Poor sleep has such an impact on overall mood and well-being. If it is addressed, things should settle quite quickly afterwards
- Manage Pain
- Improve relationships – Relationship difficulties are often self-perpetuating. This is because our beliefs and reactions to each other may trigger patterns of behaviour that stop us solving them. When couples or families want to stay together but are having problems, the human givens approach can help.

When life is tough, it can feel like hope has gone. By listening and providing space, we can bring hope to people when they need it most.
Community

Being part of a wider community is one of our essential emotional needs. This reduces the isolation, which can lead to poor mental well-being. Building community and fostering connection helps reduce the burden of mental health.
